Under Airbnb's new house rules policy, which takes effect November 20, 2026, hosts can no longer ask guests to take garbage off-site. Guests can still be asked to sort trash and recycling into the indoor bins. Getting the cans to the curb on collection day is now the host's job. Can-To-Curb Pros takes the cans to the curb the day before collection and, on the round trip, brings them back after collection, with a photo when the job is done.
What did Airbnb change about checkout?
Airbnb's new house rules policy limits the chores a host can ask of guests at checkout. Guests should not be asked to strip the beds, start laundry, wash and put away dishes, or take garbage off-site. Hosts can still ask guests to put used dishes in the sink, gather used towels, and separate trash and recycling into the indoor bins. The policy takes effect November 20, 2026.
That touches a lot of homes here. Boise alone has 2,360 active short-term rental listings, according to AirDNA's October 2026 numbers. For hosts, it is one more thing to deal with.
Why is trash day a headache for hosts now?
Getting cans to the curb is a sensitive job and a hard one to manage property by property. Hosts now have to drive to each property, take the cans out to the curb, and come back for them.
That is more driving and more windshield time, added to every property they manage.

How does Can-To-Curb Pros handle trash day for a rental?
We take the cans to the curb the day before collection, during our daily route. After collection, a separate return route brings them back. That is the round trip, built for rentals and property managers. Each visit is documented, so the host gets a notice the day before, a notice when we are on the way, and a photo when the job is complete.
Hosts can rest assured their properties are taken care of, well and respectfully.
Trash service is trash service. Your collection service does not care who is staying in the house, and neither do we. We run on the property's collection day every week, whoever is booked. Think of us as one more utility, the one every short-term rental manager will be glad they hired. The property managers who already use us came looking for exactly this. They just want trash day handled, and that is why we are here.
What does a host need to get started?
Tell us where the trash cans are kept. If they are behind a gate or inside a garage, we need access before we can begin. After that, it is a card on file and we take care of it. Other billing options are available too.

How does it work for a property manager with several properties?
Each property is set up and billed separately. That lets a manager track the service at every property and bill each owner on their own.

Can a host trust someone else with the cans?
Yes. Can-To-Curb Pros is licensed and insured, with multiple vehicles on the road every day. The photo at the end of each visit is the proof: the cans are where they belong, and nobody had to guess.
Is this only for Airbnb hosts?
No. Busy people of every kind miss trash day, and most of them do not know a service like this exists. We started this service for the people who needed it most: neighbors getting older, single parents, and households where the week simply runs out before the trash does. It began on Lawn Dogs routes, when our technicians saw cans still behind the fence on trash day and started offering to roll them out. Service is provided by The Lawn Dogs technicians.
For most homes, takeout is all it takes: the cans are at the curb the day before collection, and your collection service does the rest. Any plan works for anyone, so a busy family can choose the round trip too.
Where does Can-To-Curb Pros serve?
We serve the Treasure Valley across Ada and Canyon Counties: Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Garden City, Star, Kuna, Nampa, Caldwell and Middleton.
